Go Dust Devils

Our Dust Devils love interscholastic athletics, and they realize that it is a privilege to take part in them - not a right. They conduct themselves as "people of character" at all times and places by exemplifying good scholarship and displaying good sportsmanship. Our athletes represent the highest ideals of:

Our Athletic Philosophy

The purpose of the Santa Cruz Valley Union High School athletic program is to assist in the development of the physical, social, mental, and emotional well being of the student. It is the intent of the Santa Cruz Valley Union High School to:

  • provide a first class athletic program that encourages participation of all students, and
  • to continue to build Dust Devil Pride that leads to a winning tradition.

Our Athletic Director

Al Ocampo

Mr. Ocampo is the Dean of Students, the Athletic Director, and our Head Football Coach. He has been an educator and coach for over 30 years and hopes to continue for many more. Married to his wife Laurie for 33 years, he has six children - three boys and three girls, and eight grandchildren. Mr. Ocampo states, “I love kids - especially the kids here at SC. They are some of the best young people I have ever worked with.”
