We understand that for various reasons, attending and doing well in school becomes a tremendous challenge for some students. For students who are at risk of dropping out, perhaps because of work schedules, being credit deficient, or being teen parents, the Santa Cruz Valley Union High School District offers an alternative school that meets from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Students may choose to attend, or the administration, a hearing officer, or the governing board may assign them due to behavior, attendance, or academic issues. Through both Web-based curriculum and direct classroom instruction, our alternative high school program provides an opportunity for students to reach grade level and complete credits for graduation. It also provides a venue in which students may develop workplace skills and attitudes. It requires that students grow in self-discipline and self-motivation. If you need an alternative, please see your counselor for details. Santa Cruz Alternative SchoolLadjamaya Green Guidance CounselorsFrank Jimenez |
